Evening At Yanns
I love family get together's and it was so lovely as we had my grandmother up from Malvern and Ralphs father and his other half down from Inverness. It was my Father-in-laws birthday so my parents took us all out to
Yanns a local restaurant and B&B in our small town of Crieff. I love this place, owned by a Frenchmen, Yann, and his beautiful wife Shari. Yanns is decorated in warm classic French art-deco atmosphere are and is always welcoming. We are regulars to both their B&B and their other restaurant
The Lounge located on the high street.
I spent the first bit of the night trying to get Rohan off to sleep in the other room off the restaurant area, this is where you usually wait for your table, sipping on a glass of crisp white and warming yourself in front of a fireplace fit for a warm cosy house in the Alps. The atmosphere is complimented by both French and relaxing music from around the world. Dimly lit by beautiful candles and fairy lights, makes you feel very at home or wishing it was for that matter.
Shari, the owner's wife and master mind behind the beautiful decorations, came in to relieve me of my motherly duty so maybe I could catch my dinner before it got cold. Sadly Rohan had other ideas and wasn't settled with having anyone but Daddy or I. Ralph came in not long after and took over after inhaling his food to make sure I could get mine. I thought he was kidding but when I got back to the table he had eaten his whole steak and everything with it!
I ordered the muscles, bathed in a beautiful cream sauce and cooked until steaming, even though mine kind of weren't steaming by the time I got to them but they tasted amazing all the same.
Even though I didn't get to eat with everyone, I really enjoyed my night spending time with family. It's always great to catch up and as much as the Holiday season can be stressful, you will look back and be glad (or merry) that you spent time with family while you still could.
Merry Findings...
