Maternity Photos

Photo Credit: Helene Lynch - Raving Mad About Photography

We finally had a nice enough day to have our maternity photos done! I was so excited and these turned out brilliantly! My mother, who I've now hired as my reserve photographer for my company Raving Mad About photography, took these! How we missed that she is amazing at photography I do not know? As it was my father who got me into camera's and taking photos and my mother who was usually the subject even though she doesn't really like having her photo taken.
I couldn't have asked for a better gift, she really fulfilled what I wanted out of my shoot and It was strange to be in front of the camera instead of behind it for a change. Like most people who I photograph, I do not like having my photo taken either, but the location, the company and my mother's eye and direction made me feel  at ease and it definitely shows in the finished prints!

We've also got them done just in time, as I'm 33 weeks and the baby has been in the engaged "Birthing/upside" position since last week and the midwife is suspecting we might be early. Not something I expected as most people go over their due date and I had assumed this would most likely happen to me too. But we did have an inkling that maybe I am further along than we've been told which would explain a lot of what's happened during this pregnancy as much as I would love to be one of those mums who thinks her baby is a genius and is passing all the milestones before his or her time, I just don't think this is the case (as mean as that sounded towards my unborn child, you know what I meant.)
Saying that, I am strangely ready for this baby to come now, I'm not as nervous as I thought or have been throughout my whole pregnancy and frankly him/her being in the position s/he is in has made me feel so uncomfortable that to make it to my due without going insane will be a miracle!

In the meantime I've had this sudden crafting urge that's come out of no where!? Going to put it down to another "nesting" symptom which is helping get the nursery set up, but I'm wanting to make everything from scratch! Bunting, Photo blocks/frames, cards, memo boards, you name it. The good thing is at least I'll have something to keep me occupied while waiting as I'm going to have to take maternity leave soon considering it's almost physically impossible to get in the positions I usually do to take photos for clients AND I'll have more things to post up on the blog! Yay!

But first to finish my birth "plan" in time ... grrrr.
