Yay, my computer decided it had no more storage in it last night. So that's my work screwed. I have over 500 photos to hand edit by the end of this week and no room to do it? So expect me to post some random blogs while I use photos I wont be able to use later because I've deleted and stored them somewhere else.
This is going to be one of those weeks isn't it....

Random Photo Time
Above: My dear friend Brooke. Florida, Saint Augustine.
These photos were taken a couple of years ago, can't believe how fast time has flown. She recently found out she is expecting her first in December of this year! Yay, congratulations Brookie. She's doing so good as her husband has just left for the Army and will be back and forth throughout the whole pregnancy which has got to be tough as the first trimester It really helped to have Ralph their to make me feel better. But it doesn't seem to phase Brooke even though she has had a rough first trimester so far. Making me look bad woman!

These photos were taken around the same time as Brooke's (above, above) right before we moved back to the UK. I am still trying to get that wretched dog shipped over here, which is proving to be extremely difficult. He is worth it though, and we all miss him very much. Especially the girls. Emmy as we call her for short, or Manny, loves to be outdoors. This girl has been my practice model along with our other little sister for years now. They are a God send, literally that's what Emmanuelle means 'God is with us'... woops I'm reaching into that proud parent 'My children are the best children in the world' mentality on this post aren't I? Sorry... You've got to admit both her and the dog are kinda cute though huh?

Above: Honey the pup and Shanna. Saint Augustine, Florida.
These are just too cute not to share. I love these two, they were taken awhile ago now. I think 4 years ago, so 2008? My, has it really been that long? Shanna had recently got Honey as a gift from her friend. Being the girly, girl Shanna is she bought this boxer mix loads of clothes, all pink of course, including a tutu. I laughed at her as if she was crazy, but the puppy actually seemed to enjoy all the attention of being dressed up? Which is strange because whenever Shanna had tried to put a tutu on me my first instinct was to growl at her...
Anyway, This was my first puppy and owner portrait shoot. As I really hadn't had a demand for it before, plus it wasn't common around that time to have newborn photos with your pet but it seems to have become a slight (even if kept quite) trend the past couple of years. Sadly Shanna had to move not too long ago putting her in the predicament of having to re-home Honey, but it wasn't all bad as she ended up with Shanna's biological mother, who apparently has a lot of land for Honey to run around on.
Shanna is coming to stay with me in August a week before and after the baby is due, which means the baby wont arrive at all during that time because that's how things usually go. But I've taken a lot of comfort in that as it will hopefully take a load off Ralph to feel like he has to be home just in case I go into labour. Plus I am in need of some retail therapy and girly talk... and this woman is the only woman who manages to bring that out in me. So what usually is a countdown till baby is due is actually a countdown till I can feel a little more human again when Shanna arrives! Poor thing, no pressure Shanna!

Above: Emmanuelle and I. Marketing assignment.
Yes, I was once a bimbo blonde! But only for a year as that's exactly how it made me feel, like a bimbo. But in that year I had a lot of marketing assignments, this one I enjoyed because I got to use Emmy and she's just sooo lovely to look at, but no perving or I will jump through the computer screen and while you sleep and torture you (no, not in the good way). We had a 60s like theme for jewellery and costume, so this was just the thing for Emmy as she loves her peace symbols and VW buses. I got to wear gold, not real gold of course but gold jewellery tends to make my skin a bit more olive looking than it actually is, and a belly dancers outfit. I set the tripod up, as it's impossible to hold a bulky "professional" photography camera up to take a self portrait, plus it looks rather silly. And only used natural light from the windows to give that glow. Only thing I didn't like was Emmy wanted to wear more make-up than I would have put on her but then again she's a pre-teen so it's expected. I managed to stop her from heavy mascara and fake bake. But she did her own make-up and even some of mine.
I'm just hoping as she get's older she wont get bored of being my practice and example model for shoots, as it's soo much fun photographing her because of the way she really seems to get into the shoot. And when I get both her and our little sister together it just get's even better! But then things like this happen and I clog up my P.C. causing no more space on my hard drive.... *sigh.

Above: My little sister Dani. Saint Augustine, Florida.
Dani, Dani, Dani, where do I start? Like I said before, it's great to have both Dani and Emmy for my photoshoot examples, they are so patient with me! These were taken in 2007 and it was a spontaneous shoot as she came outside while I was photographing plants for an assignment. Dani had clothed herself and picked up this clover and started spinning. I couldn't resist! It was just a perfect moment and I happened, for once, to have my camera on me! Yay!
Sadly these are the photos that will now have to go into storage, along with thousands of others that have added calories to my comp. I am a hoarder of photos, even ones I've never used and probably wont ever use I can't bring myself to delete! And the problem with digital you're more likely to take 12 dozen photos of the same thing rather than when using film it's the one shot that counts. No school like old school either, film will always be magical, digital will forever changed.
