Huggies no longer available in the UK & Ireland.

Huggies nappies discontinued in UK & Ireland.

A few months ago I heard what I thought was a rumour that Huggies were discontinuing their Huggies Brand Nappies from ALL UK & Ireland stores. I laughed it off, as if they'd pull a BIG brand off the shelves that most mothers pick over Pampers. So when I went into my local store to pick up a pack of nappies for my son, I found that they had ran out, I ran around my town to find the very last packet of Huggies as I'd remembered hearing that "rumour" and realized it was true! But why? No one I asked knew? Why had they pulled my favourite brand off the shelves? Why will my son now be wearing nappies that leak?

According to Marketing Week, Kimbarly Clark, owners, of the Huggies brand, has axed the brands nappies in order to focus on it's stronger markets elsewhere. Their sub-brands, drynights, pullups and littleswimmers will still be available along with Huggies wipes and some new products they will be introducing into the market. They are hoping pulling the brands nappies and focusing on more profitable areas will help with their yearly revenue which had been unstable for the past couple years.

So where does that leave all loyal Huggies nappie customers? Well, in the s%*t's, litarally....
A storm of mums have complained that the only brand that keeps their sons & daughters bums free of rash and their carpets/beds clean of being soiled has now abandoned them and in doing so mums and dads may void buying any of their products all together!

One mum said "What a silly idea? How does focusing on other area's and pulling one of the biggest brands in the UK going to help them make money? I haven't found any nappie as good, and I'm now having to wake up my Daughter in the middle of the night to change her so she's not lying in a pool of urine in the morning!"

I totally agree, how does this make loyal customers want to continue being loyal when the brand doesn't show the same standard? What do we do now? Well, some of you will probably switch to Pampers and find that you're having to change your little one twice, or three times as much. Others will switch to re-usable nappies and some will go searching for an almost-as-good substitute. So for all of you tearing your hair out this is what I've found to help, until something hopefully get's fixed!
